Name: Community Event: February 20, 2026 - Free Legal Help for Low-Income Adults Interested in Sealing or Expunging Past Criminal Records
Date: February 20, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM EST
Event Description:
LASCO (Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio) is holding a free event to help low-income individuals with past criminal records in sealing or expunging their records. Lawyers will figure out if you can seal or expunge your criminal record and then help you complete the application for court. This free clinic is available to those who meet eligibility and income requirements (generally less than 200% of the federal poverty guideline). To see if your case(s) are eligible for the clinic, please call 614-827-0524 or pre-register online here. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, February 20, at the Delaware County Law Library, 101 N. Sandusky Street, Delaware, OH 43015. There is a handicapped accessible entrance available at the side door, 10 Court Street. Clients will be helped first come, first served, and LASCO cannot guarantee service to everyone who registers or walks in. You cannot apply to seal or expunge if you are currently on Probation or Community Control, and/or have an open case with the court. OVI and traffic convictions cannot be sealed or expunged. Many Ohioans with past criminal records were previously ineligible for record sealing or expungement. Thanks to a law passed in 2023, some of these people may now be eligible. About Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio: LASCO (formerly Southeastern Ohio Legal Services) is a nonprofit organization that provides free civil legal assistance to low-income individuals and families in central and southeast Ohio.
