May 3 is Shred Day for Delaware County Residents
 
CES Credit Union, the Delaware Public Health District and Keep Delaware County Beautiful are cooperating for a Shred Day for Delaware County residents on Saturday May 3, 2025 at the Delaware Public Health District parking lot at 470 South Sandusky Street in Delaware, OH. Hours are 9:00am to 12:00 noon. There is no cost, and up to 6 boxes of personal documents will be shredded onsite by licensed and bonded contractors. 
Please note the following:
  • Staples and paper clips may remain on the documents to be shredded. 
  • Remove all large binder clips and three-ring binders.
  • No wet or moldy documents will be accepted. 
  • Boxes should be approximately the size of a bankers' box or copier paper box. Avoid using trash bags that could tear.
  • Not intended for business use.
  • Verify no foreign or metal items like tools, scissors, pliers, etc. are included with the documents to be shredded. 
Documents suggested to be shredded include:
  • Old personal financial (bank or credit union) statements, especially those over seven years old.
  • Old tax documents, especially those over seven years old.
  • Old and unnecessary receipts and bills with your name, address and account number showing.
  • Expired policies.
Recognizing the value of safe disposal of sensitive financial documents, CES Credit Union partnered with the Delaware Area Health District for this event. CES Credit Union is a community credit union located at 33 London Road in Delaware, serving all who live and work in Delaware County and much of Central Ohio. CES Credit Union is federally insured by NCUA and operated six locations in the region, including Mount Vernon and Utica.
 
The Delaware Public Health District is multi-faceted, covering all angles of public health to ensure residents are safe, healthy and happy, offering services — ranging from immunizations, booster assessments, plumbing inspections and everything in between — that have helped boost Delaware County to be ranked the Healthiest County in Ohio in 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 based on a study conducted by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and The University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.
 
The Keep Delaware County Beautiful (KDCB) program is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, Inc., promoting Delaware County recycling. The KDCB Coalition provides recycling and litter prevention activities and environmental education programs to the residents and businesses of Delaware County.
Keep Delaware County Beautiful is your local resource for recycling and litter prevention programs and works with the Delaware, Knox, Marion, and Morrow (DKMM) Solid Waste District to provide local recycling and litter prevention programs and activities.
